Fairview Township, located in South Central,
PA , will be holding a Celebration Day on Saturday June 12, 2004. They
are focusing on various organizations and services available to
township citizens. Each organization is given a booth free of charge for
the event, and we can do whatever we would like in order to
entertain people attending the event, and draw attention to our
organization in the process! This will be a really really fun event, and
a great way to raise money and increase awareness in the community in
general!
Suggested ideas include bake sales, crafts,
clowns, magic, drama, entertainment of all kinds, face painting, etc. I
will once again, spray my hair purple, green, and red like I did for my
2000 b-day party :o) The works! We just provide the materials for
what we want to do and go for it! We get 100% profit on everything. The
Fairview Township Office will not take any of the money we raise.
You can do almost anything from
"womaning" the booth for a little while that day, to baking or
making things to sell, giving us ideas, publicizing the event, and
donating any supplies or services. Please consider using your great
ideas to support G-PACT in this way! If you start cooking now, you may
be done by the 12th of June, although some of the food will be stale by
the event! That's why we need more than one or two chefs, so please get
your loved ones involved in that, and consider long distance factors too
with shipping food items! :o) But there's more to life than
food (as GPers know!) so crafts, cool services for kids, and other ideas
will give us a big boost and a way to get everyone interested involved,
and be comfortable in the process.
If you would like to help G-PACT make this
event even bigger than it already is for this community, please contact
Carissa, President/Webmaster, at bluelighteningjeep@earthlink.net
or 1-888-820-0729 x 82 for further information.

Top] The Patient Awareness Liaison Program (a.k.a. PAL) was launched in August 2003. This is a program for Gastroparesis sufferers, who have questions about this illness, need someone with an attentive ear to listen, or who may need information for handling an insurance denial. This is an excellent way to offer support and answer questions for Gastroparesis sufferers and family because it offers a personalized and precise support for those who use the service. G-PACT provides five 1-800 numbers* for callers to use when in need of support
If you are in need of individualized assistance or support, you will find information on each of the active volunteers on the website and in the monthly e-mail newsletter.
*G-PACT would like to thank Medtronic for sponsoring this very important program!

G-PACT has created personalized restaurant cards in the size of business cards for all people dealing with gastroparesis. They can be used at restaurants when a GP patient needs to order a meal in a smaller portion. These cards request that people with GP be allowed to order off the child or seniors menu, or share a dinner with another customer.* This help patients reduce the cost of meals and amount of wasted food they cannot finish. They are free to anybody with gastroparesis. Just send an SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) to the following address to request your card. Please include your name so we can personalize it for you. If you lose your card, we will replace it. We have received excellent responses about this program! G-PACT Ohio Office P.O. Box 674 Bellefontaine, OH 43311 -0674
Because of the overwhelming response, your card will be sent within 2-3 weeks of being received. If you have any questions please contact Veronica at vpennington@g-pact.org
* G-PACT can not guarantee the acceptance of the card. General Information
Sincerely, Your G-PACT Team: Carissa, Veronica, Lila, Carey, Ed, Sherri, Jo , Toni, Stephanie, Bobbiejo and Peg
