The fundraising department is beginning to work very hard towards our planned National 5K walk to take place this summer or spring. We are in need of: -Volunteers to walk for donations -Volunteers to work at tables during the event handing out information, registering participants, gathering donor info, passing out free t-shirts to all participants, and monitor sales on G-PACT merchandise that will be available. -Donors to sponsor walkers -Location in as many states as possible. We are considering contacting universities with tracks to use, parks with a track, indoor rec centers, etc. -Volunteers to help coordinate the event overall, plus many people from each state participating to coordinate the fundraiser behind the scenes. -Volunteers to recruit walkers and/or donors -Volunteers to assist in advertising the event through flyers, posters, mailings, and other means. G-PACT will supply all of those materials. We will ship each volunteer a certain amount to pass around. The fundraising department is also in need of people willing to sponsor and/or take part in fundraising events nationwide. If you would like to sponsor or coordinate a fundraising event in your area, please contact Lisa or Bethellen at fundraising@g-pact.org with your ideas and to express your interest in helping G-PACT raise funds to support our many important projects. Also, please contact them if you want to help but do not know what to do. They will assist you in finding the appropriate fundraising event for your situation and location, as well as familiarize you with our policies and procedures. ****G-PACT Store**** Christmas is coming in a few months, so start shopping now for your friends and family. What could be better for Christmas than G-PACT Merchandise? In a cold dreary winter, the G-PACT logo will brighten anyone's day! There are many products on the site including t-shirts, mugs, tote bags, mouse pads, golf shirts, long sleeve shirts, hats, aprons, clocks, and backpacks to name only a few. You can see some of them at www.g-pact.org/gpactproducts.htm and link from there to the store where there are more options. You may also go directly to the store by going to www.cafepress.com. Go to "shop". Then type in g_pact (underscore, not dash) and it will bring up our store with all merchandise. G-PACT gets $5.00 for each item you purchase!! For a limited time, anyone who spends more than $25 at our store will receive a free plush stuffed American Eagle. So you get great products, help G-PACT through your purchase, and advertise by using or wearing your merchandise! ****From the office of Public Relations**** -Petition to Discovery channel requesting a documentary of gastroparesis. GP is a serious condition which is undiagnosed and highly misunderstood. However, it is more common than most people think. Most people have never even heard about it. We need to make the public aware of this problem so those suffering from it can begin to seek more adequate treatment. In order to do so, G-PACT is sponsoring an effort being made to encourage the Discovery Channel to do a documentary on this condition. Please sign this petition if you have not already done so!
