Once again G-PACT has added an excellent new staff member! Lila Litter was voted in as our new Administrative Assistant. She has extensive past experience doing the type of work necessary for this position. Lila lives in Florida and we know she will be a top notch addition to our team. We are thrilled to have her on board. Soon you will be able to read Lila's bio on the G-PACT website at www.g-pact.org. That site also includes bio's of other G-PACTers. You may also contacted her through e-mail at llitter@g-pact.org. ****Spotlight Patient**** Our September 2002 Spotlight Patient is Brittany Caudell. Brittany is from Utah and has been struggling with idiopathic Gastroparesis since March 2000. Currently she relies on tube feedings for nutrition. In August, Brittany had a gastric pacemaker implanted at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The full effects of the pacer will not be known for anywhere from two weeks to two years. In spite of all this, Brittany remains positive and holds on to the hope that someday there will be a cure for GP. You can read more about her story on the G-PACT website at www.g-pact.org. You will also find stories of past spotlight patients in the "spotlight patients" section. Feel free to nominate someone you know with GP as well. ****G-PACT Officer Receives High Honor**** Carissa Haston, G-PACT President/Webmaster, has been selected by Messiah College as the recipient of the prestigious "Messiah College Young Alumnus Achievement Award" for the year 2002. This award honors an alumnus who has graduated within the past ten years and has made significant contributions to the community, church, vocation, or Messiah College.Carissa is receiving this award due to her outstanding achievement for her contribution and success of the G-PACT organization while personally battling Gastroparesis herself. More details will be sent out in future mailings and posted on the website once everything is finalized. Not only are we proud of Carissa for this high achievement, but delight in the fact that in addition to the award, G-PACT will receive increased publicity which should benefit not only G-PACT, but the world of Gastroparesis. Our Congratulations to you
Carissa for your hard work and a well deserved reward.
