From May 30-June 4, 2009 G-PACT will be exhibiting at Digestive Diseases Week (DDW) in Chicago. DDW is the largest international GI convention of the year. This will give us an opportunity to increase awareness of gastroparesis and pseudo-obstruction among the medical profession. We will be meeting with certain physicians and will have the opportunity to meet medical company representatives and researchers interested in this condition. It is an excellent opportunity for us to share our needs and spread the word about GP and CIP! We have approximately 10 volunteers from G-PACT attending to maintain the booth ans represent G-PACT. We are thankful to be fully staffed for the entire week! Be sure to inform your physicians of our attendance and encourage them to stop by and see us! In addition to DDW, G-PACT has also been invited by the Oley Foundation to exhibit at their annual conference located in St. Petersburg, FL this year. This conference will be held from June 26-July 2, 2009 topped off by their annual walk-a-thon. Several G-PACT representatives will be available to hand out educational materials to patients and families who have GP and/or CIP and are attending because they are on home TPN or Enteral nutrition. On May 17, 2009, a church in WV will be holding a GP awareness event. They have purchased 120 wristbands and requested 150 brochures to pass out to participants in order to educate the community. Anyone can help raise awareness! We will post more information, and hopefully some photos, after the event.
